Who We Are
Welcome to Utopian Center! We are a nonprofit organization committed to empowering the homeless members of society living in shelters and streets.
We serve the City of Chicago, and its suburbs. Founded in 2020, Utopian Center seeks to live up to its name, that is, creating a community whose members have perfect qualities. That’s why we are a forefront philanthropic organization in championing inclusivity and equitability.
What We Do
Research shows that more than 20 percent ( 1 out of every 5 people ) in the City of Chicago live below the United States poverty line. In 2019, the city had a total of over 3,200 single homeless people not living with families. Most of these individuals and families do not have access to quality basic needs, including food, shelter and education. At Utopian Center, we are committed to developing and implementing causes, programs and events that help them overcome their struggles and live out their dreams.
Our primary goal is to lower the homeless rate within the city and its surroundings. That’s why we work with the City of Chicago’s management team and other government and private organizations to provide quality, sufficient and nutritious meals to hundreds of homeless families.
We understand that food donation are not sustainable. For this reason, we seek to help the homeless become self-sufficient through our empowerment programs. We offer tutoring services for children from preschool to high school. We provide job and social skill training services to enhance their employability and become productive members of society. We also provide counseling services to address their mental health and well-being. We extend our services to veterans and ex-offenders.
